The Tamarind Centre is a charitable organisation founded over 30 years ago by carers and health professionals in response to the lack of appropriate culturally sensitive services.
When the organisation was formed, our name reflected the community that we were set up to support; we were known as Coventry Black Mental health. In the late 1990s, we
became The Tamarind Centre.
The centre evolved into a service that is more responsive to the health and social care needs of Caribbean British, African British, Asian British and Dual heritage communities in
Coventry and surrounding areas.
We provide an holistic approach to mental health and wellbeing which embodies the principles of a preventative and person-catered approach to recovery.
